Q: What Is MotionMD integrator?
MotionMD is a HITRUST certified web-based solution designed to streamline claims management and inventory dispensing. With integration, we populate MotionMD with the patient demographic and insurance information so that when the clinicians need to administer a brace to the patient, the patients’ information is already in the system. This saves time in a clinic setting and makes the DME process a lot more efficient.
Q: Is MotionMD secure?
Yes, all confidential data is always encrypted at rest and in transit.
Q: What is integration?
Integration is the combining of software or hardware components or both into an overall system to share data.
Q: Is bi-directional required?
No, bi-directional is not required.
Q: What components does the DJO Integrator support?
DJO Integrator can connect any number of SaaS or on-premise application data from any EMR system, flat files, spreadsheets, etc. in a variety of formats including HL7, xml, delimited, etc.
Q: Would any resource used on the project be located outside of the United States?
No, the MotionMD Operations Center is located at DJO in Vista, CA
Q: Which EMR systems are you currently integrated with?
We can integrate to practically any EMR system from the smallest regional mom and pop vendor to the largest enterprise systems. We have integrated with:
Athena Epic Exscibe
Centricity NextGen Open Practice Solutions
Greenway Allscripts Pulse
MediTech eClinicalWorks Medent
DocuTap SRS Practice Velocity
Cerner Systemedx MedEvolve
Evident ChartLogic Aprima
MediSYS Allmeds AdvancedMD
Q: My EMR isn't on your list. Can we still integrate?
In most cases, yes we can. As long as data can be exported from your system in an agreed upon file format.
Q: What patient information is requested with integration?
We want to receive an HL7 message that is closest to the time of check-in that includes the most current patient demographics and insurance information.
Q: How much time and effort is required by the clinic's staff and resources?
This depends on the overall integration design. In most cases, the EMR vendor, DJO Global will work closely with your staff for guidance and support and to validate the design. In most cases DJO Global works directly with the EMR vendor and support from staff is minimal (2-4 hours over a period of days or weeks).
In some cases, all integration work is done internally by IT partnering with DJO Global. This will vary but has ranged from 20-120 hours depending on the design and workflow. In a smaller clinic, this may be one-person soup to nuts working directly with DJO. In a larger clinic, this will be cross-functional effort working with system operations, application development including the PMO.
Q: We have more than one system - A EMR and a Practice Management System. Where do we get the data?
In most cases, either system will work, but the workflow of each will need to be validated to make sure that the data is interfaced in real-time fashion. Sometimes, the driver for the decision is not technical, but a matter of cost and time.
Q: How much does this cost?
For OfficeCare accounts, there is no cost associated with the integration. For Direct accounts this will vary by EMR vendor. The range has been $2,500-12,000. A determination is yet to be made if this can be amortized or bundled within a subscription fee.
Q: How much time does it take to integrate?
The overall project plan is very simple and can be done end to end in a day. However, this will also vary by EMR vendor, and the implementation design itself. Practically, we have had installs occur in as quickly as a week. Some vendors, such as Greenway and NextGen will take 12-20 weeks to flow. The average install will take about 4 weeks.
Q: We are in the middle of an EMR Upgrade/EMR Reengineering project and may switch vendors.
In most cases, a newer version of the EMR will behave similarly from an integration perspective and need not hold up the integration effort. For a reengineering project, the implementation is specific enough to vendors, we should probably wait until the vendor selection is completed to move forward. In some cases, however, we can take a phased approach and just have a flat file transfer from the current system until the new one is in place.
Q: Does DJO Integrator pull data from the EMR system?
In our current HL7 integration model, the EMR pushes data to our integration software, which is then transmitted securely via web services to the MotionMD system.
We are beginning to partner with various vendors to use an API model where we pull only the relevant information needed from the system. These API services will go through an EMR technical certification process.
Q: How about support after go-live?
Historically, very few problems arise after go-live. DJO integrator is robust and lightweight. When internal IT systems go down for maintenance, it automatically starts when they are brought back online.
