There are new features added in MotionMD® to aid users in identifying Patient Agreements impacted by Competitive Bidding.
Competitive Bidding Early Warning notification. If a product placed on a PA with a HCPCS subject to Competitive Bidding and the Payment Method is Medicare with a primary zip code in a Competitive Bid Area, users will receive an early warning alert:
As a user is creating the PA and the criterion for Competitive Bidding is met an early warning alert will appear:
Ability to capture a Medicare beneficiary’s “Primary Usage Zip” code: This is necessary to determine if the patient will be using the prescribed product(s) in a Competitive Bid Area
Under the patient signature option, the patient will be required to enter or validate the primary zip code prior to acceptance of terms. The primary zip code will auto populate if it was captured under the Customer details in the Medicare Payment Method. If it’s blank, the patient will need to manually enter the data prior to signing
Competitive Bidding Billing notification: Prior to submitting a claim to billing, users will be alerted with a Competitive Bidding pill on any PA meeting Competitive Bidding criterion.
On the Patient Agreement, Billing Submission and Missing ICD-10 tabs, users will see a “Competitive Bidding” pill next to the affected product(s) on the PA:
